Satya Midnight Incense Review
From the company that gave us Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa, Trishaa, Patchouli Forest and Super Sandalwood (among others) comes Midnight from their Oriental series and it will never rank as high as those scents. Let me explain once again that the Oriental series is built on a base of sandalwood and vanilla and most of the offerings in that line tend to smell a bit generic and hard to pin down in the exact fragrance category. None of them are offensive or bad and it seems to me that more than anything Shrinivas Sugandhalaya wanted to expand their product line but play it safe at the same time.
The scents are almost interchangeable with each other. Differing only it seems in their respective top notes. With the exception of Patchouli Forest which is (in my opinion) a superior scent and by far the best of the Oriental series. So that brings us to Midnight. A stick that is rich in vanilla and sandalwood like the rest of the series but with a slightly sultry jasmine-like top note.
It does work in a fashion. The scent is not distinctive, or especially unique given the DNA it shares with the rest of the series, but it is pleasantly sultry yet not very powerful. It would be a good hot summer night fragrance, or a very non-distracting romance fragrance. Honestly I would use any of the Oriental series again (with the exception of Sandalwood) because of that generic, non-distracting, warm and sweet scent that they all seem to share.
If you like warm, lightly sweet incense that is not heavy on the perfume then the Oriental series is for you. It doesn’t matter which one you pick to try out, the overall impression you will get is about the same for any of them. Again, with the exception of Patchouli Forest which stands alone and is amazing.
