Gonesh No. 6 Ancient Times Review
The name on Gonesh No. 2 Oils and Spices is better suited to this stick. Fresh from the package I smelled notes of patchouli, sandalwood, sage and something sharply floral, like holly or bayberry. Let me start off by saying that I love the way this stick smells unlit. I could easily leave it unlit and upright in a small pot of sand on my desk and enjoy it that way. Which is exactly how I feel about the Extra Rich Sandalwood from Gonesh. The difference is that the Extra Rich Sandalwood is still incredibly pleasing when lit and this stick isn’t quite as pleasing.
To skip to the good part, I would burn this incense again. As a matter of fact I plan on doing so. It is warm, spicy, earthy and with a hint of a sharp note that keeps the scent from bogging down like straight patchouli or nag champa. However, (and you knew that was coming didn’t you?) the scent can be a bit cloying and thick. Currently as I write this review I am sitting on the back deck burning this incense. When the very gentle breeze carries too much of the smoke my way it borders on the unpleasant. I suppose this is a good incense to enjoy at a distance. That is to say light it in a very large room or a separate room of the house and let the scent carry to you.
Overall it is a good scent but there can be too much of a good thing.
